Long Time No Update

So lately, I've been busy working mostly with bluray to dvd.
Using eac3to to demux movies.
DGAVCIndex for h264/FFMS2 for VC1/MPEG.
AVISynth to convert to AVI (UtLosslessCodec; addborders(0,x,0,x), spline64resize(720,480))
AVI to CCE SP2.
Turns out rather nicely and works faster than frameserving directly to CCE.

Time used:
frameserve directly to CCE with AVISynth Script: over 30 hours.
AVI lossless (20-30gb a movie): ~12 hours for everything. All prep work included.

Working with an intermediate file reduces encoding time.
Frameserving takes forever.
Is there a difference in quality? I think not. Or at least it's not noticeable to the human eye.

On Sony Vegas; 1080p AVI; Ut Lossless Codec
Further testing indicates that converting your blurays to 1080p AVI files with the UtLosslessCodec, improves the frame updates in Sony Vegas.
And lining up the audio to match the video is not that problematic or time consuming.

I was able to take the first chapter of A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010) and import as a lossless AVI with audio separated into 6 mono wav files.
Mostly a success.
With one exception: my CPU is not nearly fast enough, nor is the video card strong enough to playback the resolution and bitrate combined in real time updates.
Although, it does manage to keep up at a well enough pace to get the idea of what you're editing.
Encoding small sections of the new audio edits show much promise.

I took a break from editing in hopes to organize my computer more efficiently.
And trying to find all my music archives and sort them to finish the edit.
I've forgotten that I had started that edit.
Also forgot what music I wanted to inject into the first chapter ^___^

Oh well, a fresh look will get the creative gears cranking.

Coming up soon.
eac3to and plug-ins, codecs and setup.
The only tool you'll need to break your 1080p/bluray sources into working components.

Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD Master Audio/LPCM/5.1/6.1/7.1
MKV/MP4/VC1/H264/MPEG

Break it down, break it down further, put it back together and get only what you need.

Probably will kick up sometime in December.

A quick overview to be posted shortly.
